Lessons at Bates and Bowdoin are scheduled by each college’s music department.

My private studio operates on a trimester basis. The fall trimester runs from September through December, the spring trimester is from January through the first week of June, and the summer trimester is from mid-June to mid-August. I follow the academic calendar for Portland Public Schools, taking the same holidays and vacations.

I sponsor an annual studio recital in May for my elementary, middle,  and secondary school students.

It is important to have the right fit between teacher and student, so I offer a free trial half-hour lesson.

Once we agree to be teacher and student, we find a lesson time and calculate the financial details. We arrive at your tuition rate by calculating the number of anticipated weekly lessons per trimester, multiplying by the appropriate rate, and dividing by the number of months in the trimester to come up with a monthly fee. One free lesson is subtracted from the total number of lessons in case of a missed lesson for any reason. That way, if you have to miss one lesson you are not charged for it. The monthly tuition fee is due at the first lesson of the month. Please contact me for lesson rates.
